Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa is not happy with the State Government’s recommendation of candidature of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Commissioner T. Sham Bhat, for the post of the Chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).

“The Chief Minister has not done the right thing” in recommending Mr. Bhat’s name to the post, Mr. Thimmappa told presspersons here on Tuesday.

Following allegations, Governor Vajubhai Vala has not cleared the name of Mr. Bhat and the former had sought a report form the Karnataka Lokayukta on allegations of irregularities in BDA during Mr. Bhat’s tenure in the civic agency.

According to sources, the Governor has written to the Lokayukta Registrar seeking the details of allegations about irregularities in denotification of lands in Arkavathy Layout and distribution of alternative sites in Kempegowda Layout.
