Some schools let off students as a precautionary measure

Several parents were taken by surprise on Tuesday afternoon when many school managements decided let off students around 2 p.m. as a precautionary measure.

Schools having their own transportation sent the students home in school buses, while other schools sent SMS to parents asking them to pick their children up.

Many parents, who were at work, had to travel long distances to pick up their wards.

Shilpa S., a parent of a class 3 student, said she was taken aback after she found that her son had reached home by the school bus.

“As a precautionary measure, a school in Nagarbhavi decided to suspend classes at around 2 p.m. and sent the children home. Since I was at work, I had to ask my husband to leave work and rush back home as he was alone,” she said.

Meanwhile, many schools and colleges, who are having mid-term tests, however, faced no problem as the students wrote the exam in the first half and left the institution as scheduled.
