Solar units in govt offices, hospital in Kolar

A number of government offices and district hospital in Kolar will soon have solar power units to tide over power shortage.

A plan has been chalked out to install the units at a cost of Rs. 2 crore on rooftops of four offices, said Deputy Commissioner K.V. Thrilokchandra. Bescom officials have chalked out the plan as the demand for power is growing each year. year by year.

The solar power units will be installed on the rooftops of zilla panchayat office, Sri Narasimha Raja District Hospital, office of District Health and Family Welfare and taluk office in the first phase, he said and added that it will cost Rs. 1 lakh to produce one KW power.

Mr. Thrilokchandra said that there was a huge demand for power at the district hospital and the proposed solar power unit will help meet the demand.
