Software engineer leaps to his death

November 05, 2011 10:17 am | Updated 10:17 am IST - Bangalore:

An engineer jumped to his death from the ninth floor of the building of the software company where he was working for Electronics City Phase II Friday afternoon.

Horrified colleagues watched as Tushar Bhatia (23), a technical assistant with Tata Consultancy Services, leapt down from the passageway on the ninth floor of the office on Think campus, Electronics City Phase II, around 1 p.m.

The Parappana Agrahara police said Tushar had been suffering from a urinary infection that impaired his kidney function. “He had been getting treatment, but the pain was getting worse and probably he felt he could not take it anymore,” said a police official. While no suicide note was found, the police are sifting through the contents of his work computer and personal computer for clues.

Tushar, originally from Kanpur, began his career here only this February. He was staying alone in a room in Marathahalli. His parents, who live in Pune, have been contacted.
