Slum voters place demands

What do slum dwellers want from the future corporators of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)?

Led by Slum Janandolana-Karnataka and Slum Janara Kriya Vedike, the slum dwellers of the city have announced their six demands from political parties.

The demands are: separate allocation for slum development in the BBMP budget; reservation of land for slum dwellers and housing scheme based on population; coordination committee involving all civic agencies for slum development; winding up of all advisory committees like Agenda for Bangalore Infrastructure Development led by investors; title deeds for all the residents of slums situated on government land; and rehabilitation of those residing in five relocated slums and no more relocation of slums in the city.
