Siddaramaiah comes to the rescue of police

Tells senior officers to ensure cops get good chairs

May 22, 2014 12:42 am | Updated 12:42 am IST - Bangalore:

The policemen guarding the four main gates and the main doors of the Vidhana Soudha were pleasantly surprised on Wednesday when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took some time out of his busy schedule to look into their plight. The policemen keep an eye on visitors and monitor the movement of people around the Secretariat round-the-clock.

Mr. Siddaramaiah expressed concern over a constable sitting precariously on a broken chair at the west gate entrance of the Secretariat, near the statue of the former Chief Minister Kengal Hanumanthaiya.

He directed senior officers to provide good chairs to policemen stationed at the entrance of the Vidhana Soudha.

Later, Mr. Siddaramaiah administered an oath to fight terrorism to government employees and paid tribute to the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 23rd death anniversary.
