Rumours about Kannada film actor Shruti attempting suicide spread like wildfire after she was admitted to a private hospital in Basaveshwaranagar on Friday. However, Shruti who recovered later clarified that she fell ill due to food poisoning.
Around afternoon Shruthi was admitted to Punya hospital in Basaveshwaranagar as she was vomiting repeatedly in the afternoon. This turned into the rumour that she tried to end life by consuming poison. After the news alleging her attempted suicide flashed on local TV channels Kamakshipalya police rushed to the hospital and verified the facts.
The police said Shruti had not attempted suicide. “She informed us that three days ago she had gone to Shiradi and had food in a dhaba. Since then, she was not keeping well and so she came to the hospital,” the police said.
