The Jalahalli police today detained an attendant, Gundanna (45), in a school here in connection with the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl on Monday.
The police had questioned six male staff members working in the school. After the questioning, the police suspect Gundanna based on his behaviour, according to police sources.
A woman police official in plain clothes is trying to help the child identify the accused, the sources said.
City Police Commissioner M. N. Reddi convened a meeting with the anxious parents on Tuesday and assured speedy investigation of the case.
