Seven policemen injured in mishap

A team of seven police personnel from CCB sustained multiple injuries when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a truck on the outskirts of Tumakuru. They were returning to the city after nabbing a chain-snatcher from Pune in connection with a case in the city on Thursday.

While two inspectors admitted to a private hospital in Tumakuru, the constables with multiple injuries were admitted to various hospitals in the city. The SUV was completely damaged.

The chain-snatcher, identified as Ali, managed to escape. A special team has been formed to track him down.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot to probe the cause of the accident.
