Seven officials booked for amassing disproportionate wealth

Lokayukta officials conducted simultaneous raids across the State on Tuesday and booked seven officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police, and confiscated property totally worth Rs. 7 crore.

The accused officers, T. Thimmegowda, Chief Engineer BWSSB; K.P. Gangadharachar, Assistant Regional Transport officer; D.P. Mahendra, Deputy Environment Officer, Pollution Control Board; S.R. Srinivasan, Executive Engineer, State Residential Schools Association; H.M. Mallikarjuna Swamy, Joint Director, City and Town Planning; Shantaraju, Deputy Director, Silk Board and Prabhudev Mane, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Udupi; have been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act, the Lokayukta official release said.
