Continuing investigations into the heist at the Jain temple in Akkipet on Sunday, the city police picked up a security guard for questioning from the Victoria Hospital on Tuesday.

The security guard, who was under the scanner for his suspected role in the heist, was picked up after he recovered from the chloroform attack.

A police officer said that apart from the security guard, two other persons have been picked up for questioning. “We had a hunch about an inside hand in the robbery and zeroed in on one of the security guards to question his role,” the police said.

Meanwhile the police have also questioned the members of the temple trust to get clues on the robbers whose images have been captured by the CCTV cameras installed on the temple premises. It may be recalled that jewels and cash worth Rs. 25 lakh was stolen from the Shri Vasupujya Swami Jain Shwetambar Murtipujak Sangh on Akkipet Main Road on Sunday morning.
