A 22-year-old security guard was stabbed to death and another was injured when three armed men on a bike attacked them with lethal weapons on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Tarun, a native of Assam who was working as a security guard for a residential apartment in Soorya City near Anekal.
A few residents, who noticed the duo lying in a pool of blood, rushed them to a hospital, where the doctors declared Tarun as brought dead. The other security guard is being treated and said to be critical.
Inquiries revealed that the duo had a scuffle with three men. The police suspect that the duo were trying to thwart a possible robbery which led to the attack.
The police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder and are investigating further.
