School was to be tagged with other schools?

March 31, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - BENGALURU:

The parents’ protest on Wednesday opened a Pandora’s box as it later emerged that 13 students of St. George Public School were to take exams as students of the Swamy Vivekananda Primary and High School. One of the coordinators of St. George Public School, when questioned, said the students would come to their school for tuitions, but attend classes at the Swamy Vivekananda school.

However, the parents differed in this. While some of them said their wards completed class 9 at St. George Public School and later shifted to Swamy Vivekananda school for class 10, other parents maintained that their children were studying at Swamy Vivekananda Primary and High School and went for tuitions to St. George Public School. Senior officials in the department indicated the involvement of department officials in the matter.

Although the KSEEB earlier allowed schools to tag along students of other schools for writing the SSLC exam, the board claims to have stopped this practice. A departmental inquiry has been ordered into the matter.

Both the schools are unauthorised. There’s no option of giving students an opportunity to write the exams. The Block Education Officer and the Deputy Director of Public Instruction should have looked into the matter much before the commencement of the exam.
