Fifteen-year-old Tulasi is among the 11 runaway children who have passed with flying colours in the SSLC examination.

Tulasi and her friend Neela were rescued by volunteers of Bosco from a railway station here and referred to Child Welfare Committee before she was admitted to Hombe Gowda School two years ago.

Tulasi secured 78 per cent (Kannada Medium) and wants to be an advocate while Neela, who secured 68 per cent, wants to be a software engineer.

“Neela is impressed by the volunteers from information technology companies and determined to become a software engineer,” Fr. P.S. George, executive director of Bosco.

The story of Sangamesh is no different. The volunteers found him at the city railway station and admitted him to St. Joseph School for Boys two years ago.

Sangamesh, who ran away from home in Bidar as he was unable to continue his studies, showed good improvement and he became the class leader.

He secured 449 out of 625. Sangamesh wants to become a social worker so that he ensures that the government benefits reach the poor.
