Rs. 2.29 lakh goes missing from BMTC depot

Unidentified thieves made away with Rs. 2.29 lakh from the bus depot of the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) in Kengeri.

The incident came to light when the bus depot manager, Ravindra, came to work on Monday.

Case booked The Kengeri police have booked a case of burglary and are investigating.

Suspicion A senior police official at the Kengeri police station said that they suspected the role of an insider in the incident. The official said that the ticket collection amount was kept in the Depot Accounts Department in a suitcase only on Sunday. Moreover, there were no signs of anybody barging into the premises entry.
