Two construction labourers sustained injuries after part of the roof of a three-story under-construction building caved in on them near Yedyur lake on Wednesday.

The injured have been identified as Sharanappa (35), a native of Gulbarga, and Arob (21), hailing from Bihar.

According to the police, the incident took place around 1.30 p.m. while the labourers were working at the site situated near Yedyur lake in Jayanagar 7th block. While other labourers were on the ground floor, Arob and Sharanappa were moulding the second floor’s ceiling when it collapsed.

The other labourers rushed Arob and Sharanappa to a nearby hospital.

The Jayanagar police have registered a case under 288 of IPC (Negligent conduct with respect to pulling down or repairing buildings) against the owner and the contractor.
