Heavy rain accompanied by hail storm and gusty winds lashed the city late on Wednesday night. In about two hours, the city received nearly 36 mm of rainfall.

Several arterial roads turned into rivulets, making commuting difficult for motorists. With water logging on many roads, there was slow moving traffic. The underpass on Nrupathunga Road was inundated.

The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike control rooms were flooded with calls from citizens with complaints of flooding and tree falls.

Tree falls were reported in Basaveshwaranagar, New Thippasandra Road, J.P. Nagar, Srinagar, Jayanagar, Tilak Nagar, BTM Layout and Koramangala. A tree fell on a parked BMTC bus in Kengeri Satellite Town. Rainwater entered homes near Gangamma Thimmaiah Kalyan Mantap on Magadi Road, behind Venugopala Swamy Temple in Bellandur, Kodichikkkanahalli Main Road and Cauvery Hospital in Hongasandra. Several low-lying areas were also flooded.

There were complaints about disruption in power supply in many areas, especially the eastern and southern parts.
