A 25-year-old man was hacked to death in front of his elder brother in a road rage incident at K.G. Halli on Thursday night.

The victim, Syed Yusuf, was an autorickshaw driver. He was returning home on a motorcycle, along with his brother Syed Hussain, after attending prayers when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with an autorickshaw, which was being driven by Nadeem.

In the midst of the verbal altercation that followed, Nadeem allegedly pulled out a dagger. He attacked Yusuf and Hussain. Yusuf sustained multiple stab wounds and died on the spot; Hussain escaped with minor injuries.

Passers-by, who witnessed the attack, overpowered Nadeem and pinned him down. In the melee, he too sustained injuries.

Nadeem and Hussain have been admitted to NIMHANS.

The K.G. Halli police are waiting for them to recover to continue their investigation. “Nadeem is named in several criminal cases,” said the police.
