Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) on Tuesday announced the results of the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET) conducted by the varsity on March 3. Mohammad Shariq, a graduate of Kasturba Medical College, topped the list of rank holders for medicine.
Harish C., who stood third in the Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) PGET, has secured the second rank. The M.S. Ramaiah Medical College graduate, whose Postgraduate National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-PG) rank is 40, said he aims to pursue orthopaedics in KEM Hospital, Mumbai.
RGUHS topper Santosh Narayanan has come third in the PGET. The graduate from A.J. Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalore, who was in his hometown Kerala when the results were announced, was awarded the highest number of gold medals so far — 17 — for this year. “My NEET-PG ranking is 130. I want to study general medicine in Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute,” he told The Hindu .
Dental
Aarti Goel from New Delhi, who completed BDS from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, came first in dental. “I will choose MD in conservative dentistry and endodontics as the course is in demand and is largely required due to the increasing number of patients. I would like to go to Government Dental College, Bangalore, which is the best in Karnataka,” she said.
