The revised guidance value of properties in Bangalore in all likelihood will come into effect from the first week of August.

To set the deck for the revision, the Department of Stamps and Registration issued the preliminary notification on Thursday, calling for objections to the revised guidance values.

A gazette notification has been issued for five registration districts of Gandhinagar, Shivajinagar, Rajajinagar, Jayanagar and Basavanagudi, covering areas under 43 sub-registrar's offices across the city. The last time the guidance value for properties in Bangalore was revised was in April 2007.

It is reliably learnt that the value of the property would go up from a minimum of 20 per cent and would exceed 100 per cent in some areas that have been brought under the BBMP jurisdiction. Sources in the department said that the copies of the preliminary notification would be available in a couple of days, and the public would be given 15 days time to file their objections. The central valuation committee would screen the objections before the final notification is issued, the sources said and added that the revised values would come into effect almost immediately afterwards.

Objections can be filed with the Secretary, Central Valuation Committee, the office of the Inspector-General of Registrations, Shimsha Bhavan, 8{+t}{+h} Block, Jayanagar.
