The South East Division police, with the help of army officials, arrested a 42-year-old retired army man who was luring unemployed youth by telling them he would get them medical certificates to help them join the army.
Based on a tip-off from army officials, a team of policemen from Koramangala police station raided a house situated in 6th Block, Koramangala, and arrested N.C. Jana.
The officials found seven youths there who had cleared the physical endurance test. The accused had lured them into buying the required medical certificate worth Rs. 1 lakh.
The police have seized marks cards and other certificates belonging to the candidates, along with two mobile phones and five ATM cards from the accused. The accused has been taken into custody for further questioning.
