The Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force on Tuesday arrested a resort owner for allegedly encroaching upon six acres of government land at Vaddarapalya in Bangalore west division.

BMTF sources said Arunachalam (60), chairman of the Shakti Hills Resorts and resident of Rajarajeshwarinagar, had been running the resort on encroached land for the past eight years. A complaint was lodged in 2007, but the police had not take action. Recently the complainant approached the Task Force and lodged a fresh complaint and the BMTF took up the case from the local police. He was released on bail.
