Residents thrash youth caught stealing mobile phone

Residents of Nandini Layout, on Sunday, who caught a 17-year-old boy stealing a mobile phone from a house, thrashed him before handing him over to the police on Sunday.

The police took the boy to the police station for inquiry. "Because he is a minor, we will follow the necessary procedures," Nandini Layout police said.

The boy was caught after his attempt to steal a mobile phone from a home in Nandini Layout First block failed. Nagaraj, a businessman, from whose house the boy tried stealing the phone, has lodged a complaint with the police.
