Reservation rules soon for contract/outsourced jobs in govt, govt-aided institutions

Reservation rules will soon be applicable to contract and outsourced jobs in all government and government-aided institutions across Karnataka. This will cover one lakh jobs in government departments, quasi-government institutions, boards, corporations, universities and aided educational institutions.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, Social Welfare Minister Anjaneya said that an amendment to the Karnataka Scheduled Castes Scheduled Tribes and other. Backward Classes (Reservation of Appointment etc.,) Act, 1990, will be passed in the next legislature session to make this possible.

A decision on the amendment was taken at a meeting of the cabinet sub-committee, with the concurrence of the Law Department and Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).
