Bangalore University’s (BU) syndicate on Tuesday decided to slash the fee charged for re-evaluation and photocopying of answer scripts.
The decision follows large-scale allegations of botch-ups in the evaluation of undergraduate answer scripts of the second, fourth and sixth semesters.
Higher Education Minister R.V. Deshpande had suggested this to the varsity after a student delegation met him to complain about the evaluation. Vice-Chancellor B. Thimme Gowda told mediapersons that the fee to get a photocopy of an answer script is Rs. 300 (from Rs. 400) while that of applying for re-evaluation is Rs. 500 (from Rs. 625). Further, if a student who has failed passes after re-evaluation, he/she gets back 50 per cent of the revaluation fee.
