Realtor shoots himself accidentally while cleaning pistol

A 37-year-old realtor, who was cleaning his licensed gun at his house in Doddanekkundi, was critically injured after it fired accidentally.

On impact, the bullet pierced his left chest and exited his body, said the police. His assistant who heard the gun shot rushed to the room and found him lying in a pool of blood.

The realtor, Naveen Reddy, was rushed to a private hospital where he in the intensive care unit.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around noon when Mr. Reddy was cleaning his loaded .22 calibre pistol.

Mr. Reddy had renewed his license two months ago. “We have taken up a case and are investigating the cause of accident. We will take necessary action based on what we find,” a senior police officer said.
