At least 3,740 police personnel will be deployed in and around Manekshaw Parade ground and surrounding areas on Monday to maintain law and order during the 66 Republic Day celebrations. Nine DCPs have been instructed to supervise security operations.
Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi on Saturday said, “Every part of the venue and surrounding areas have been thoroughly checked. Around 25 metal door frame metal detectors and two explosive detectors will be used. The antecedents of BBMP staff and other invitees have also been verified. No one will be allowed inside without an identity card.”
