Rape case: women’s organisations seek review of discharge order

April 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - BENGALURU:

Expressing shock over the discharge order given by the City Civil and Sessions Court in respect of the rape case against Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swami of Sri Ramachandrapura Mutt, members of women’s organisations have appealed to the State government to appeal the decision in the High Court.

Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, vice president of the Akhila Bharata Janavadi Mahila Sanghatane, K.S. Vimala said the State government should appeal to the High Court seeking review of the discharge order and ask for a comprehensive report.

Ms. Vimala said that in the discharge order, it is stated that the prosecution has failed to give authentic evidence, hence the State government, to set right the lapses, should file an appeal in the High Court.
