Rajneesh Goel, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, took additional charge as the Executive Director of Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) on Wednesday. The post, along with the post of Vice-Chairman, was vacant after K.M. Kaveriappa and S.C. Sharma resigned earlier this week.
Mr. Kaveriappa and Mr. Sharma had tendered their resignations in the backdrop of allegations of misuse of power.
Mr. Sharma, speaking about the reasons for resigning, said: “We are not after power or anything; these allegations have hurt us.”
“As a routine procedure, I have taken additional charge (as Executive Director). The next appointment will be made in due course,” Mr. Goel said.
