Pre-monsoon showers that lashed the city on Thursday provided much-needed relief from the sweltering heat. The good news is that the Meteorological Centre in Bengaluru has forecast light rains over the next three days.

The city recorded 1.8 mm of rainfall on Thursday. The maximum temperature came down from 35.6 degrees on Wednesday to 35.5 degrees on Thursday. The mercury is expected to head southwards over the next three days due to the anticipated rains.

S.M. Metri, director, Meteorological Centre, Bengaluru said that the rains are a result of a trough over Vidarbha. South interior Karnataka is expected to receive rains over the next three days. He forecast a partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunderstorm over the next six days.
