With rain lashing the city last night, several areas faced water logging and tree falls were reported in many parts of the city. India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said that the monsoon was expected in a few days.

Several areas of the city faced waterlogging, including R.R. Nagar, Bhel Krishna garden, Alage Vodeyarahalli, and Marathahalli. A compound wall collapsed last night in Ragigudda slum, J.P. Nagar 2nd Phase, and damaged several vehicles that were parked by the side.

Trees fell at Koramangala Ring Road, Nayandahalli, Adugodi, Sony signal at Koramangala, J.P. Nagar, RR Nagar, Bandi Maramma, Kengeri Railway Station, Varthur Lake, Sarjapur, and Bellandur.

Although it looked like the rains were here to say, the India Meteorological Department said that there was still time for the monsoon to hit the coast. "The onset of monsoon in Kerala is expected over four to five days," said S.M. Metri, director, IMD.

More rain to come

The IMD has predicted cloudy skies with a few spells of rain or thundershowers until the end of the week. The minimum temperature has dropped to 21 degree celsius, while the maximum temperature is a tolerable 31 degree celsius. Rainfall of 20.3 mm was recorded in the city since Wednesday 8.30 a.m.
