Rain disrupts Bangalore traffic

Traffic in several parts of Bangalore, especially on the arterial roads, was disrupted for a while due to sudden evening showers on Monday.

Commuters on Bellary Road leading to the Bengaluru International Airport found themselves trapped for half an hour due to flooding near the Hebbal flyover.

A vehicle that broke down on the flyover didn’t help either. The police blamed the waterlogged road on the ongoing BWSSB work on water pipelines.

Syed Abdullasha, resident of Tannery Road, said that 10 houses near Amar School were inundated when the storm-water drain overflowed. A tree fall was reported near Maharani College leading to traffic snarls.
