After a couple of days' hiatus, heavy summer rain, accompanied by hailstones, lashed the city on Saturday evening, sending people scurrying for cover.

Water rushed into houses in Chokkasandra and near lake Dasarahalli.

A tree branch fell on an electricity pole in Jayanagar 8th Block, leading to disruption of power supply. Tree branches fell near Safina Plaza, on 4th Cross in R.T. Nagar, 2nd block in M.M. Road and Bamboo Bazaar.

Several roads, including Queen's Road, Cubbon Road, Palace Road, Hosur Road, K.H. Road and Lalbagh Road were flooded, slowing traffic.
