A second pre-university student studying in Siddaganga College was found dead at the Veerashaiva Gurukula Hostel in Tumakuru city on Tuesday. The police identified the deceased as 17-year-old Swaroop, native of Rangenahalli in Magadi taluk of Ramanagaram district. He was studying science.

The incident came to light when his room-mate tried to wake him up at 5 a.m. on Tuesday. When he did not respond, the students informed the hostel warden. Though Swaroop was rushed to a nearby private hospital, the doctors there declared him as brought dead. They said he had died due to a heart attack.

His father Renuka Aradhya works in Belagavi district. A case has been registered in New Extension Police Station.
