Pre-university lecturers and principals who kept off II PU evaluation on Tuesday are expected to continue their boycott on Wednesday as well.
Thimmaiah Purle, president of the Karnataka State PU Lecturers’ Association, said that while the lecturers reported to their evaluation camps, they refused to carry out evaluation.
In order to avoid delay in results, Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar said the department would make alternative arrangements if the lecturers failed to report to work on Wednesday also. He, however, refused to reveal what the alternative arrangements were.
Mr. Ratnakar said he was open to talks with the lecturers and principals and said he was willing to give an oral commitment to them and was confident of convincing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to getting their demands fulfilled.
Meanwhile, the DPUE has announced 30 per cent increase in remuneration for evaluators.
