Tension prevailed for sometime at Kacharakanahalli when officials of the Bangalore district administration, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) went to recover over 57 acres of tank bed area being encroached for many areas.

The encroached area has three temples and a function hall built by the temple along with an illegal stadium. Tension gripped as rumours of razing down the temple spread. Hundreds of people rushed to the spot and protested.

Senior officials, including the Deputy Commissioner V. Shankar and BMTF chief T. Sunil Kumar, assured the crowd that the temple would not be disturbed and would be handed over to the Muzrai Department.
