Programme to promote Kannada

The Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Mahalakshmipuram Legislative Assembly constituency, in association with Sakala Foundation, is holding a unique programme on Thursday (June 23) under the ‘Hamsothsava’ programme to promote Kannada. Renowned film music director Hamsalekha ( in pic ) will be taken out in a chariot from Kanteerava Studio in Yeshvantpur to Dr. Rajkumar Kalakshetra in Rajajinagar. Folk artistes and singers will accompany the procession. To encourage non-Kannada speaking persons to learn the language, Kannada books will be distributed. A host of film personalities and writers are expected to take part in the programme.
