Probe into attack on African nationals

The case of African nationals being allegedly attacked by locals in Kothanur has been handed over to the Central Crime Branch for a detailed probe, said M.N. Reddi, Police Commissioner.

“Some people expressed doubts about the local police’s investigations. We will not spare anyone, local or foreign, who has committed an offence. There is no question of any cover up,” Mr. Reddi said on his official account on a social networking site.

“The police are genuinely trying to build healthy relationships with members of the African community. We have ensured that two cases are registered and nine have already been arrested. More arrests will follow,” he added.
