The driver of a private bus and his assistant sustained minor injuries when the driver lost control of the bus and crashed into a house in Thyagarajanagar here on Wednesday.

While the bus did not have any passengers, the residents of the house were away when the accident occurred.

The bus was going towards Banashankari. The driver, T. Srinivas, and his assistant, Nagaraj, were treated for leg injuries at a private hospital. Preliminary investigations revealed that the brakes of the bus had failed.

Gowri Shankar, owner of the house and a city-based businessman, has filed a complaint with the Banashankari traffic police.

Investigations revealed that the bus was moving down the slope when brakes failed. “Luckily, there was very little traffic on the road,” a police official added.
