A seven-month pregnant woman hanged herself at her at her home in Jayanagar 9th Block on Saturday.
The parents of Asin Banu (24), who had married Sadiq Khan a year ago, alleged that Sadiq routinely harassed their daughter for more dowry. In their complaint, they said soon after the marriage, Sadiq demanded that Asin get Rs. 5 lakh from her parents after he incurred losses in his footwear business.
But the hard-pressed parents could not oblige and the Tilaknagar police suspect Asin ended her life as she could no longer bear the torture.
The police registered a case against Sadiq.
