A day after the twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad, Karnataka Director General and Inspector General of police L.R. Pachau held a meeting with senior police officers to review security measures by the police.
The meeting attended by top police officials from Intelligence and Internal security wing among others, discussed various measures to counter possible attacks in the city.
Referring to reports that the Centre had shared information with states two days ago about possible terror strikes in the country, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) said Karnataka too had received a general alert in the wake of Afzal Guru's hanging. But, it was not a specific alert about any possible attack in Bangalore or any part of the State.
Meanwhile security checks have been intensified at public places and sensitive areas where anti sabotage check squad, dog squads and bomb detection squads have been pressed into service.
The police officials have been directed to step up patrolling in their respective areas, Additional Commissioner of Police T. Suneel Kumar said.

Decrease the money spent on VIP welcome decoration..if govt is spending for VIP security then its fine.. but whats the need of decoration? all is waste of money only.. bomb blaster planners are not so dumb as Govt thinks.. terrorists know very well that govt will increase security after a bomb blast and they will not do another blast immediately.. they gonna observe Govt activities and all activities are updated through media right so they can observe everything sitting in a room.. Indian govt and police is the dumbest I have ever seen..
so 24x7 we the public need to be alerted..
The problem starts from the root level, Constables recruited by taking bribes as a result we are not getting basics right from these policemen, SHO and senior PIs pay bribe to their seniors to get plum police station postings, The beat patrol team which are supposed to keep a watch on every nook and corner of their jurisdiction are busy collecting money from the hawkers and petty shops, half of the police force is busy guarding the VIPs and VVIPs leaving common man in the mercy of our fate and luck, we are sitting ducks, god save our country.
When a bomb triggers in one corner of the country, the entire country is put on high alert. The govt. rises from its complacency. Why can't it be all throught 365 days and 24X7? Why can't they deploy more police force to have a check throughout rather than when an incident occurs killing innocent people? Reduce the VIP/VVIP securities and divert those security personnel to take care of, not few so called important people but the entire country and its citizens. Why this lackadaisical approach towards citizens?
