Post fish kill, oxidation of Ulsoor lake begins

June 02, 2016 12:00 am | Updated September 16, 2016 09:47 am IST - Bengaluru:

A Hyderabad-based firm has begun a pilot project to artificially infuse oxygen into Ulsoor lake using oxidants. The pilot project has been given a go-ahead to test if such infusion of oxygen externally can lead to a rise in the dissolved oxygen level in the lake, depletion of which was blamed for the recent fish kill. Minister for Bengaluru Development K.J. George visited the lake on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the expert committee on rejuvenation of Bellandur lake visited the lake on Wednesday. The team will also visit Varthur lake on June 9.
