Police solve three murder cases

The Malleswaram police, who arrested two suspects in a theft case, claimed to have cracked a two-year-old murder case after the arrested persons reportedly confessed to killing a sex worker over a trivial row in Vijayanagar.The accused Bhaskar (35) and Syed Aseen (25), used to visit Manjulamma (38), the sex worker. On December 2011, the two visited Manjulamma and got drunk. Manjulamma, taking advantage, allegedly stole their valuables.

The two sobered down and found they had been robbed. When they accosted Manjulamma, she refused to return their valuables. Angered by this, Bhaskar and Syed Aseen allegedly slit her throat.

Lands them in jail

Four autorickshaw drivers who, in a drunken state, reportedly bragged about a murder have ended up in jail.

A neighbour, who overheard their conversation, tipped off the police who rounded up Yogesh (23), Harish (23), Harish (21) and Manu (20) from a bar in Hebbal.

A detailed questioning led the accused to confess to the crime. According to the police , Kerala-based Kamal Shafi along with his friend Azam Pasha masquerading as eunuchs were reportedly soliciting customers near Railway lane in Sanjay Nagar a couple of months back.

The four drivers, drunk, approached the two and tried to rob them at knifepoint. In the fight that ensued, the four allegedly stabbed Shafi and fled. Shafi was rushed to Victoria hospital where he died.

Chit fund agent murder

The Sanjay Nagar police have claimed to have solved the case of a missing chit fund collection agent, who was abducted and found murdered.

The victim Venkatesh, a resident of Sanjay Nagar, was found missing from December 4.

The police found that Venkatesh was last seen at a wine store in Chamarajpet .

The police questioned three bar employees who reportedly confessed that they abducted Venkatesh, took him to Hindupur and bludgeoned him to death. The three stuffed the body in a gunny bag and dumped it in a forest. The police discovered that Venkatesh had loaned Rs 10 lakh to the bar owner Shivanna.

Venkatesh started pestering Shiva to return the loan. Shivanna then instructed his employees to eliminate him. The three are in jail, while Shivanna is on the run.

Suicide

A pre-university student identified as Mithun (16) committed suicide by hanging at his house in Neelasandra on Monday night. The police suspect that being reprimanded by his parents for not performing well in exams might have prompted him to take the extreme step.
