The Wilson garden police rescued two youths from Bangarpet, who were abducted by three persons using a ‘honey trap’ to recover the money due to them.

Within hours of the abduction, the police were able to trace the victims, who were in captivity in a rented house in BTM Layout, and arrested the three persons.

According to the police, victims Syed Wasiullah (23), a merchant from Bangarpet, and Tanveer (25), who used to work at a mill owned by Wasiullah, had come to the city to buy a vehicle.

Wasiullah had borrowed Rs. 2.5 lakh from the prime accused, who has now been identified as Tousif, and had allegedly refused to repay it. After many failed attempts to recover his loan, Tousif decided to trap Wasiullah to recover his dues.

According to the plan, Tousif “arranged” for a girl to befriend Wasiullah and later convinced him to visit her. On Friday, Wasiullah, who had come down to the city, went to meet her with Tanveer.

Tousif, who was waiting at a pre-determined spot, abducted them and took them to his house. He then called Wasiullah’s father and demanded a ransom of Rs. 5 lakh for the duo’s release.

The father rushed to Wilson Garden police station and filed a complaint. The police swung into action and tracked down the accused based on mobile call details, and arrested Jaffar, Syed Ali and Nawaz. However, Tousif, managed to escape, a senior police officer said.
