Based on the description provided by a man identified as Srinivas, the city police are trying to create a sketch of the person who might have parked the explosive laden motorbike outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters at Malleswaram here on Wednesday.
According to the police, Mr. Srinivas approached them with this information and he was immediately led away to make a sketch of the suspect.
Mr. Srinivas told the police that he had parked his motorbike next to the one with the explosives just minutes before the blast.
He has also told the police that he got a fair look at the person who parked the vehicle next to his.
Investigators have also received some leads about the suspect from the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP) personnel who were stationed inside a bus right next to the blast site.
Two of these policemen told the investigators they saw a man park the motorbike before heading for a nearby kiosk selling paan and cigarettes. They said he disappeared after a brief stopover at the kiosk.
Police sources said that the version of the KSRP personnel was corroborated by footage recorded by a CCTV camera installed at a house overlooking the blast site. The house is owned by one Narayana Reddy.
