Police constable knocked down near Laggere Ring Road

A police constable attached to the Rajagopalnagar police station was injured when a two-wheeler knocked him down while he was carrying out checks on vehicles near Laggere Ring Road on Thursday night.

Doddasiddaiah (35) was conducting checks on vehicles near Krishna Bhavan around 11.45 p.m. when a two-wheeler was flagged down.

The vehicle rider, who initially appeared as if he was going to park his two-wheeler on the side of the road, suddenly sped away, hitting the constable.

In the complaint, Doddasiddaiah stated that the footrest of the two-wheeler hit his leg and was he was unable to get up due to injuries on his left knee. He was taken to hospital by his collegue.

As the two-wheeler rider sped away, the policemen were unable to note down its registration number.

A case has been registered by the Rajagopalnagar police, who are on the lookout for the rider and are trying to obtain footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby.
