The Madiwala police have registered a case against a private telecom giant and the contractor it had hired for damaging a road while placing optical fibre cables on Chocolate Factory Road at Tavarekere, without informing BBMP.

Based on the complaint filed by the jurisdictional BBMP Assistant Executive Engineer, the police have booked the company and its vendor under various sections of the IPC, including Section 336 (Endangering life or personal safety of others). Residents had complained about the road being damaged owing to the work. According to the police, BBMP officials seized the vehicles and machines that were being used to dig up the road.
