Police ban crackers from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

City police have imposed a ban on bursting crackers between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Police Commissioner M. N. Reddi has also prohibited people from bursting crackers in public places and in front of the religious places.

The “festival of light” should not be misinterpreted and people should avoid bursting crackers that would lead to noise and air pollution he said encouraging people to light lamps instead. He also suggested that people should donate money to charity instead of wasting money on crackers.
