Expressing concern over the increasing number of foreigners involved in drug peddling, Home Minister G. Parameshwara said that the body of the Nigerian, who died under mysterious circumstances, remains unclaimed. While the police said he died in an accident, Africans living in the city allege that his death was the result of police brutality.

“We wrote to the Nigerian High Commission and the embassy, but none has come forward so far to claim the body,” he said.

The airport traffic police have confirmed that the deceased is Ifyeani Madu alias Nwa Jesus, but are waiting for the FRRO to furnish more information. According to the police, they are yet to hear from the Nigerian embassy on whether to conduct a post mortem.
