Police arrest director of ‘fraud company’

The Mico Layout police have arrested the director of a private company on Bannerghatta Road, which allegedly cheated its trainees by not paying them stipend for four months. The trainees had protested outside the office and ransacked the building, demanding that the company return their security deposit of Rs. 30,000.

The CEO of the company, Sri Karthik, is absconding, but the police arrested a director Akheel. “He was a trainer who has been the director since August this year. We have booked a case of cheating under Section 420 of the IPC against him,” the police said.

On Friday, the trainees met Police Commissioner M N Reddi with a request to initiate action against the company for cheating them.
